About Drupps Atmo

Tapping the atmosphere

Waste steam coming out of chimneys holds a lot of water and energy. Drupps Atmos recycles its latent and sensible energy, generating both steam water and additional atmospheric water. In effect, a water recovery of up to 180%.

This is made possible by Absium, a hygroscopic liquid developed by Drupps that is able to capture, liquefy, and release airborne water from an airstream below 100% relative humidity.

The System

Modular setup

Waste steam from the production is condensed into pure water, releasing heat that is recycled.

In a parallell process, atmospheric water from above the plant is absorbed by Absium and transfered to an evaporator which is semi-powered by the recycled heat. The absorbed water is extracted through distillation.

In total, water production can reach 180% of your potato water with an opex at €3/m³.
